Zouxian Power Station: Advancing Sustainable Practices with Lanran Tech’s Electrodialysis Solution

Zouxian Power Station, a flagship enterprise of Huadian Power International Corporation, is the largest power producer in Shandong Province, China. Established in 1983, it occupies an area of 1.52 million square meters and boasts a total installed capacity of 4,610 MW, making it one of China’s largest and most modern coal-fired power plants. However, as a significant producer of industrial wastewater from its flue gas desulfurization (FGD) systems, cooling water circuits, and boiler blowdown, Zouxian faces considerable challenges in treating high-salinity and complex wastewater.

Since 2022, Zouxian Power Station has successfully adopted Lanran Tech’s advanced Electrodialysis (ED) system to address these challenges. This innovative solution efficiently treats FGD wastewater and high-salinity concentrate from cooling systems, thereby reducing the volume of water directed to the evaporation process. This approach not only enhances energy efficiency but also significantly lowers operational costs compared to traditional methods.

“Lanran Tech is committed to industrial cleanliness and resource harmony. The tailored solution for Zouxian Power Station’s specific wastewater composition meets the growing need for sustainability, energy efficiency, and carbon reduction in industrial enterprises.” says Lou Yongtong, Chairman of Lanran Tech.

With the successful implementation of Lanran’s ED system, Zouxian Power Station has achieved Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD), enabling effective wastewater recovery and reuse while significantly reducing operating expenses. This accomplishment sets a new standard for industrial-scale wastewater treatment, balancing efficiency with environmental responsibility.
