Advancing Salt Lake Lithium Extraction Standards
On August 7, 2025, the 2nd Working Meeting of the Industry Standard for Salt Lake Lithium Extraction Process Design was successfully held at Hangzhou Lanran Technology.
Organized by the China Nonferrous Metals Industry Engineering Construction Standard and Specification Management Office, the meeting gathered leading enterprises and research institutions across the lithium extraction value chain—including technology R&D, engineering design, equipment manufacturing, and resource development—to refine the draft standard.
During the meeting, the drafting group reviewed the progress of previous work and discussed the initial draft clause by clause, focusing on aligning the standard with current technologies in the salt lake lithium extraction sector.
Salt lake lithium extraction is an important approach for lithium resource development. The formulation of this process design standard aims to provide standardized guidance for enterprises, support the sector’s sustainable and orderly development, and protect salt lake ecosystems.
