In steel wastewater treatment, electrodialysis can be used to concentrate salt content, thereby facilitating the production of acids and bases via BMED
This technology offers a promising solution for industrial salt waste management, reducing reliance on traditional methods like concentration and evaporation.
Additionally, electrodialysis helps mitigate environmental impact and reduce treatment costs for hazardous waste in the chemical industry.
Hydrometallurgy and rare earth smelting industries produce high-concentration ammonia salt solution.
The solution contains oil (extractant) and heavy metal ions.
Coupling membrane separation units like electrodialysis facilitates:
Recovery of heavy metals, extractants, and ammonium salts.
Recycling of freshwater.
Ammonium salts are sold as fertilizer by-products.
This process achieves concentration and emission reduction.
