Amino Acid Desalination
Description
Amino acid fermentation or synthesis often produces high-salt process streams (e.g., ammonium salts, sodium sulfate). Lanran’s ED technology provides an efficient, green alternative to ion-exchange resin, significantly reducing acid/alkali consumption.
Process
- Fermentation broth is pretreated (ultrafiltration to remove biomass).
- ED selectively removes small inorganic salts while retaining amino acids.
- Amino acid recovery rate exceeds 95%.

Advantages
- High yield, no need for chemical agents, simple operation and maintenance, and a small amount of concentrated water.
